How can the optometrist test babies eyesight?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Indirectly: The babies eye anatomy can be examined for normality. Are the eyes aligned? Does the child move his eyes to look for presented objects. With the use of some objective instruments, the approximate eyeglass power can be determined. These are of course because the child cannot respond about vision. If there is an issue with a child, absolutely see a pediatric ophthalmologist and not an optom.
