Could scabies cause complications during pregnancy?

Confirm diagnosis: Pregnant women with rashes should see an OB provider or dermatologist to get a diagnosis. There are some skin conditions that cause problems for the pregnancy.

Discomfort & itching: Usually severe itching which unfortunately worsens with treatment as the scabies mite dies in the skin. I agree you need to get the diagnosis confirmed first & treatment includes Permethrin cream (elimite), crotamiton (eurax), or 5% sulfur (messy & not as good). Avoid lindane (kwell) d/t neurotoxicity risks. Be sure to treat all contacts & family, repeat in a week if needed.
