Most UNcommon??: Rarest disease I have seen secondary to smoking is a heightened vascular sensitivity to cigarette smoke called buerghers disease, which results ultimately in death of tissues in fingers and toes, gradually requiring repeated amputations if the individual continues to smoke. I had a patient with a left below-the-knee amputation, a right ak amputation, only 4 fingers on both hands, still smoked!
