A member asked:

Will muscle weakness from a pinched nerve reverse itself over time?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sometimes: It depends on the degree of the compression and the duration of the compression. Often when a nerve is first pinched, there will be a lot of pain associated with that. Then the pain is replaced by numbness. Even though the patient feels better with decreased pain, this means that the nerve is much sicker because it can no longer transmit signals. Relief of the compression at may or may not help.
