A member asked:

Wondering if it's bad or not normal if someone doesn't close his or her eyes completely? is it normal?

Not normal: You should be able to achieve full closure with your eyelids when trying to close your eyes. This is especially when sleeping. If your eyes stay open slightly while sleeping, the exposed surface becomes very dry and can break down. This can lead to ulcers and infection. Inability to fully close the eyelids is called lagophthalmos.
