Cold compress: Peri-orbital (around the eye) edema (swelling) can be reduced by a cold compress to the area. This prevents capillary dilation and decreases edema. The itching is indicative of allergy type reaction. Either an over the counter oral antihistamine or over the counter topical eye allergy drop (also antihistamine) should help as well.
