First control acne: Acne is a complex disease treated with a variety of approaches ranging from topical anti-inflammatories, antibiotics, as well as hormonal, medical regimens and surgery. Each case is individually treated and it is difficult to recommend a single cure. See a dermatologist first.

Depends: really depends on what your acne scars look like and what the status of your acne is currently. You should see a dermatologist or plastic surgeon for a consultation. There are medical grade products that can help tremendously. Stubborn scars can be treated with peels, lasers, surgery, or even fillers and fat grafting

Serious Rx: Red marks after acne lesions, and depressed scars that persist indefinitely, can't be treated by anything available to you. The red is your skin healing. A dermatologist or plastic surgeon has fillers, lasers or microsurgery for scars. Topical benzoyl peroxide as tolerated keeps most new lesions at bay; you physician can add a supplemental Rx if required.

Skin care and laser: Acne and acne scars are two separate issues. Acne needs to be taken care of biochemically, usually with some form of astringent, antibiotic, and secretory agent. Many are available. Acne scarring occurs secondarily to acne. It typically represents a loss of dermal collagen support. We routinely treat acne scarring with pro fractional laser therapy (sciton platform) with great success.
