How can i tell when i've grown out of my manic-depressive disorder?

Manic Depressive: That is a good question and one that you should discuss with your doctor before going off of your medication. Usually we do not grow out of manic-depressive disorders. We do grow into learning to think before we leap and recognize both depression and mania. Don't stop medicine without talking to your doctor first.

Agree w Dr. Harris.: Bipolar Disorder (Manic Depressive Disorder) is usually a life long illness. However, often mania burns out over the years. Symptoms might remain well controlled with appropriate medications, therapy and lifestyle choices.
