Depends on reason: Person is in coma. Often, when a patient is in a coma, they need breathing support as well. If they do, then removing that, they may succumb in just a few minutes. They could pass from what ever other ailments they have fairly quickly from those issues as well. If they are stable in a vegetative state and do not breathing support, they can live until they pass from dehydration or malnutrition.
