LASIK: Is another type of eye surgery in which the cornea is cut. In this procedure a thin segment of the front of the eye is cut with either a surgical blade or a laser. The flap which results is moved out of the way then the underlying corneal tissue is lasered to treat the patient's glasses correction. After this, the superficial flap of tissue is placed over the treated area.
