I can't see how: ..It would cause cancer unless there were carcinogens already present in the ingredients. As for protection, i don't think it does either. Maybe some of my learned ht colleagues knows more about this.

Possibly: An article was published in Korea: Asian Pac J Cancer Prev. 2014;15(19):8509-19. There has been an association with food with increased nitrosamines and gastric gastric cancer. This is why the incidence of gastric cancer is seemingly higher in the Asian/Korean population. Additional studies are needed to prove that the association is actually 'statistically significant.'
