Maybe,maybe not: A kid with a painful buildup of pressure during a middle ear infection can experience quick relief if a hole develops.This is seen as the debris drains into the canal, lessening the pressure stretching the ear drum.Years ago docs cut a hole to allow such drainage if the pain was bad enough. Drainage could also mean a canal infection with to benefit.
