Please help! what is the difference between transverse myelitis and multiple sclerosis?

Complex : Transverse myelitis may be an initial presentation of ms, but may be due to other etiologies, especially neuromyelitis optica, viral inflammations, arteritis, etc. Clinical imaging and spinal fluid studies can sort much of this out.
