A member asked:

Are the gastrointestinal infections contagious by oral or respiration route ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Route of infection: The vast majority of enteric (GI) infection is contracted by fecal-oral spread, but some parasites that involve the GI tract may gain access to the gut or liver via other means. Respiratory infections on the other hand are generally contracted via an inhalant route.
