Couple causes: Abnormal cervical cells can cause light bleeding after sex. Make sure your pap is up to date. Other causes can be inflammation or polyp. Gyne exam can determine the cause.

Something new?: This may or may not be a problem. What is important to know is the duration of this, history of prior periods in terms of length, amount, frequency and use of medications like oral contraceptives. Once that information is known, an obgyn doctor can better assess the cause and need, if any, to remedy the situation. Feel free to write another questions with a bit more information. Thanks for asking.
