No: Lupus is an autoimmune disorder, i.e., your immune system fighting against your own system. Fibromyalgia is diagnosed by the symptoms and examination but, as far as i know, to date, we don't know the exact cause.

Absolutely not: Systemic lupus can present with a wide array of signs and symptoms depending on how active it is and what organ systems are affected.Lupus is an autoimmune disease in which the body's immune system is attacking it's own tissues. Fibromyalgia is not a disease of the immune system--it's a chronic problem with how the brain misreads signals from nerves and falsely interprets them as increased pain.

Different: ? about similarity fibromyalgia (FM) & Lupus, an autoimmune disorder. Chronic pain conditions of all sorts have been noted in FM patients including arthridities, post-op pain disorders, & infectious disease. Two weeks of muscle group disuse can result in advanced muscle atrophy. Perhaps so-called "triggers" have a unifying dynamic: all lead to muscle weakness & chronic muscle spasm.
