A member asked:

Can you tell me more about cardiovascular disease and edema rash?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Edema rash: Cardiovascular disease in terms of valvular dysfunction, congestive heart failure or decreased cardiac ejection fraction can result in leg swelling. This, and also venous insufficiency can produce inflammatory factors in the skin producing dermatitis or rash. A cardiac ultrasound and venous leg study can differentiate the cause, since the treatment may differ.
