Enuresis: New reports reveal that constipation causes bedwetting. Studies show that distention of the rectum from pooled stool cause bladdder irritation resulting in bedwetting when asleep and bathroom trips during the day. As a prelude to evaluation by the urologist, ask your doctor for a regimen to treat constipation and maintain daily bms to prevent rectal impaction. Abstain from DDAVP (desmopressin) use initially.
