Enuresis: Bed wetting among children.Make sure to treat any UTI first if there is any. Child has to stop fluid intake after dinner usually before 8 pm and take meds like ddavp@hs if alarm or counselling failed.Record the wet and dry nights.Noctornal enuresis seems familial, resolves by itself before adolescence.

Enuresis: New reports reveal that constipation causes bedwetting. Studies show that distention of the rectum from pooled stool cause bladdder irritation resulting in bedwetting when asleep and bathroom trips during the day. As a prelude to evaluation by the urologist, ask your doctor for a regimen to treat constipation and maintain daily bms to prevent rectal impaction. Abstain from DDAVP (desmopressin) use initially.

Stepwise: 1) restrict fluids after evening meal.2) wake and toilet 2 hrs after going to bed, this may suffice, if not: 3) bed-wetting alarm. Conditioning device that will buzz as soon as child starts wetting, eventually bladder control center in brain will appreciate sensory bladder impulses & child will wake or control urinary sphincter. At first will require parental help. 4)?Desmopressin med if not cured.
