A member asked:

Can you tell me about treatment for vitreous detachment?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not needed: Vitreous detachment is a normal aging process of the gel that fills the back of the eye. Usually it detaches silently but sometimes it happens in a few locations with light flashes, floaters and visual changes. Since these symptoms are the same as retinal detachment these symptoms should always be evaluated by an ophthalmologist when they occur.
