See Your Doctor: "Child hit in forehead with hardball at speed". Head trauma is always potentially serious. If your child experienced loss of consciousness, confusion, headache, dizziness, drowsiness, vomiting, you should see the doctor immediately. Children often do not complain of symptoms therefore you should have your child examined to ensure prompt intervention if needed.

Observation: Observe for signs of a concussion such as vomiting, drowsiness, headache, blurry vision, character change. If any of these signs occur take your child to the ER for evaluation
