A member asked:

Could endarterectomies include a graft and what happens if the person stops the coumidin and goes to daily asa?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes and no: An endarterectomy is when the surgeon opens the artery and scoops out the plaque. A gratt is used as a conduit for a bypass. The graft can be the persons vein or an artificial or prosthetic tube. They can be combined in certain situations if the patient needs both this is up to the surgeon.
