Financial alternativ: In this style of practice. the patients are part of a limited pool who pay in advance (usually yearly) a set fee which gives them excellent access usually 24-7 to a doctor. The patients are required to maintain insurance; the doctor will walk them to a specialist if needed and provides an annual physical. The doctor does not have to bill or deal with insurance. It is a small, lucrative niche.

Boutique/concierge : Boutique or concierge medicine usually implies a practice with way fewer patients than a typical primary care practice. It is standard for the patients to pay a retainer or membership fee. Sometimes that is all they have to pay and sometime they still gave to pay for each visit. Visits are usually longer than usual and access to the doctor is easier.
