If it can't be fixed: The tricuspid valve is the valve between the right atrium and right ventricle. Most commonly it can be repaired if it is leaking. If a repair is not possible it can be replaced with either a mechanical valve or a tissue valve (bioprosthetic valve). The exact type depends of many patient related issues.
