Trauma caused BPD: Opd was a traditional diagnostic category used to account for personality disturbances after traumatic brain injury (tbi). Recent dsm axis-ii personality disorders, notably borderline personality disorder (bpd) has largely replaced it but the cause is thus lost and some think it is important. So, the effects are similar - on/off in mood, relationships, behaviors - difficult for themself and others.
