Blunt trauma to the: globe (eyeball) has the potential to cause external and internal damage. The internal components of the eye are delicate and that type of trauma may cause inflammation (iritis), bleeding (hyphema), increase intra-ocular pressure, and if hard enough even lenticular or retinal damage.
