Lung Disease....: COPD is a general term that includes emphysema and chronic bronchitis which result in chronic airway obstruction usually due to smoking. Diagnosis is made by doctor evaluation and pulmonary function tests. Smoking cessation to prevent further lung damage is important. There are treatments available, but it is not curable and is slowly progressive.
