Headache: Many hair straigteners/ smoothing balms contain formaldehyde (formalin & methylene glycol) which can release formaldehyde in gas form when heated and cause headaches. However, I reviewed the ingredient list for Joico k-pak and did not see these specific chemicals listed. As you sensitive to smells? This has coconut aroma.
