Unsusual: The surgical clips used in surgery are small metallic looking v-shaped devices. It would be rare for them to fall off into the wound. Suture matetial could also rarely exit from a healing wound. Contact his surgeon for an examination to be sure he is healing properly.

Yes possible: Some times clips , and stitches , can extrude through site of port entry wound especially that were placed near abdominal wall , its purpose is done. Speak to the surgeon for assurance
