Not for a quick fix!: Estrogen may diminish the likelihood of dementia, but the effects are not immediate and reflect years of taking the hormone. Memory loss is common in stress or depression, because these issues rob the brain of focus. I would not gicvve a patient estrogen coming in for memory loss. It is a long range benefit, and all other causes must be excluded.
