A member asked:

Early scan shows sac yolk and fluttering of baby hgc high, does baby usually be at other side of sac not next to yolk? or is there poss twins?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Twin ultrasound: In a twin ultrasound, there would be at least two fetal poles (future babies), two yolk sacs, and potentially two gestational sacs (the sac surrounding the baby). Beta HCG is extremely variable in early pregnancy. Typically a low number is more concerning. If there is reason for concern, your OB will continue to monitor by blood test and ultrasound.
