Unlikely : The sperm can live in the cervical mucus for 3 days and you ovulate 2 weeks before the next period. If you have a long period and/or a short cycle this could potentially happen, even though this is not very likely.

Possible: It is definitely possible although unlikely to get pregnant during your menstrual period if your menstrual cycle is much shorter than average(ex. 24 day vs 28 or 30 day cycle) and you have sex on the last day of bleeding which could last 7 days. In this case ovulation may occur 3 days later instead of 14 days later as it does in most women. Sperm lives 3 to 5 days.

2 different states: Ovulation typically happens mid-cycle around days 9-14 for an average woman. Having said that, yes, there are women who ovulate outside of that range. Women who ovulate on day 4, 5 or 6 of their cycle (meaning 4-6 days after they started their period). Some women bleed for 7-9 days, and thus ovulation could occur then as well. There's the 'typical' cycle and then there's outliers that do happen.
