It means that the : Woman is not pregnant from any sexual activity prior to the last period. However, the periods themselves don't mean that the woman won't be able to become pregnant.

Not pregnant: When the period is heavy the blood in it has not had time to clot and develop different textures. Slim is not needed for it to be a period.
