Birth Control: Does not protect against std's at all, while condoms do. There are many common std's are there that you can get with only one unprotected exposure--you might have already been exposed during your pregnancy encounter. Best to be safe than sorry until you are ready to commit for good. Hpv can cause cervical cancer, herpes breakouts could happen monthly or rarely but make you contagious forever!
