Sounds like GI- BUT: Although your symptoms are certainly consistent with a primary GI sort of problem you wouldn't want to mistake what you're feeling for coronary artery disease or even a pulmonary process. Your symptoms deserve a thorough workup in my opinion and though it may be a simple fix at the end of the day i would say you should look into this problem sooner rather than later with your doctor.

Various causes: Discomfort in the pit of the stomach may be due to gastritis, duodenal ulcer, pancreatitis and even gall stones. If a bland, low fat diet with the use of antacids don't give quick relief, have your pcp examine you.
