Is an asperger patient self-aware enough to know he has asperger syndrome?

Depends on age: Many with Asperger disorder know they are different from others, although it may be hard to them to pin down exactly what the dfiference is. Especially among teenagers, anxiety and depression can become quite common because of the awareness of the differences with peers without knowing what to do about it. Others are quite content with their lives & see themselves as different but in good ways.
