Nuss for excavatum: The nuss procedure us typically recommended for pectus excavatum and not for pectus carinatum (pigeon chest). This is usually treated using a modification of the ravitch procedure.

Conservative: Repair of a pectus carinatum (pigeon chest) is almost always a cosmetic procedure. While the nuss procedure is less invasive, it still carries a risk. Try a brace if you think that is the issue. If conservative therspy fails, you should talk to your doctor about all of your options.
