A few possibilities: A red and irritated vaginal area could be poor wiping hygiene, reaction to a change in topical products, a yeast infection or even a streptococcus infection. Although it does not cause pain with urination, your daughter needs to be seen by her doctor for further evaluation.

Yeast infection: This may be a common yeast infection. Anti-fungal medications are readily available without prescription.
