Traumatic tiggering: With a laceration may resolve if it is due to a small minor injury to the tendon or the tendon sheath or to swelling but a partial tendon laceration or a partial sheath laceration could result in triggering that continues and the tendon or the sheath may need to be derided or at least released. Make sure there is not inflammation related to infection or foreign body , see a hand surgeon.
