Help docs! i'm trying to find out what causes acoustic neuromas?

Neurosurgery 34 years experience
Unknown: It is not known what causes acoustic neuromas. There certainly are some syndromes like neurofibromatosis type ii where there are known genetic alterations that may lead to the bilateral acoustic neuromas.
