OTITIS MEDIA- CAUSES: Bacteria: strep pneumoniae (came down from 50% to 34% due to pcv vaccine); hemophilus influenzae (nontypable); moraxella catarrhalis; staphylococcus aureus; group a strep; mycoplasma (rarely). Viruses: rsv; influenza; adenoviurses. Fungal: less common, seen in immuno-compromized persons, e.g. Candida, aspergilla.
