Can be devastating: Chlamydia is an std that can cause many problems . In women, it can cause cervicitis, salpingitis, pelvic inflammatory disease and ultimately infertility . If a pregnant woman remains untreated her baby may develop pneumonia or a serious eye infection that can cause blindness and even death. Presenting symptoms may include pain with urination or intercourse or abdominal pain.

A/W Dr. Alexander: Chlamydia symptoms may include: spotting, painful sexual intercourse, pain with urination, vaginal discharge (milky or yellow mucusy), lower abdominal pain, nausea ; fever. Dr. Alexander covered complications like sterility. Pid. Untreated chlamydia of the mother can be passed to a newborn during delivery. Infants can develop neonatal conjunctivitis ; pneumonia.
