If left untreated,: Chlamydia can lead to serious problems like pelvic inflammatory disease ; even sterility. After eradication of the chlamydia with antibiotics, other treatment would be determined based on the findings.

There can be,depends: The germ can travel up into your fallopian tubes and cause inflammation ; scaring that might prevent a natural pregnancy or place you at risk of a tubal pregnancy in the future. Early recognition and treatment with antibiotics may limit the damage.Your obgyn can explain the limitations of tests available to study the effect on your system.
