Does the nitrous oxide really make you relaxed if you're anxious?

Yes, it does: Your dentist can administer the nitrous oxide through a specialized delivery system. For many patients, the effects cause a disassociation with their surroundings. It's not that you don't know what is going on, it's that you don't care. Speak to your dentist to see if this is right for you.

Absolutely!: The majority of my patients love it, and once they try it request it for dental procedures even if they don't really need it. There are a few people with claustrophobia who panic or will not try it. That's unfortunate as it is truly a great aid in relaxing patients and making the entire dental visit so much easier.
