Yes, it does: Your dentist can administer the nitrous oxide through a specialized delivery system. For many patients, the effects cause a disassociation with their surroundings. Absolutely!: The majority of my patients love it, and once they try it request it for dental procedures even if they don't really need it. There are a few people with claustrophobia who panic or will not try it. That's unfortunate as it is truly a great aid in relaxing patients and making the entire dental visit so much easier.
