Most need surgery: Adolescents(most typically overweight male)10-14 yrs. Of age who present with hip/ groin(sometimes knee)pain w/ a limp is the' classic' scfe pt.Exam may show< internal rotation of the hip.Scfe is bilateral in ~25/50%of pts.In situ pinning( 1 centrally- placed cannulated screw in femoral neck/ epiphysis)is treatment. If displaced prognosis worse.See experienced ors or ped.Ors.
