SI pain can be: Difficult to manage. Physical therapy can help. Consider an si belt which will aid in compression. Injections in the joint can help. Anything that can treat pain, from acupuncture to nsaids, if those are right for you, can help. Check leg length discrepancies as this can contribute. Manual manipulation (osteopathic or chiropractic) can help a great deal. Refractory pain can be treated surgically.
