Ascites: Symptoms of non-functioning liver include sleepiness and confusion (encephalopathy), fluid in the belly (ascites), muscle wasting, jaundice, low blood sugar, swelling of blood vessels in the esophagus (varices) that can bleed, low blood pressure, susceptibility for infections, and renal failure, among others.

End stage liver: Some of the symptoms include: 1. Uncontrolled as cite (fluids in the abdomen) 2. Confusion (hepatic encephalopathy) 3. Kidney failure 4. Bleeding those are the most common ones.
