A member asked:

I was wondering what are the dialyzable toxins?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Toxin and dialysis: Toxins removed well by dialysis are below 500 daltons in size. If the toxin is tightly bound to plasma proteins it less easily cleared by the dialysis membrane. The pore size of a peritoneal cavity is larger than the pore size of a hemodialyzer membrane and larger sized toxins can be cleared better by the peritoneal membrane. Water soluble toxins are cleared better than fat soluble ones.
