Is it true that there is no official agency that ensures the quality of dietary supplements?

Only for new ingredi: There is really no regulations by fda for dietary supplements except for new ingredients so if a diet pill introduces a new ingredient fda will look at it before it goes for sale.And otherwise they are left to wait and see if the pill produces adverse reaction before taking any action.
