Is it true that there is no official agency that ensures the quality of dietary supplements?

Only for new ingredi: There is really no regulations by fda for dietary supplements except for new ingredients so if a diet pill introduces a new ingredient fda will look at it before it goes for sale. And otherwise they are left to wait and see if the pill produces adverse reaction before taking any action.
