Can emotional stress cause seizures?

Only if the patient: Already has a seizure disorder. If some has post-traumatic epilepsy, idiopathic epilepsy, etc, then emotional stress can lower the seizure threshold. If someone has no neurologic reason for seizures, and has never had a seizure, then emotional stress will not cause them. They may cause something called a pseudo-seizure, but these are not true neurologic seizures.
