Pregnancy and heart: It depends on the kind of valve issues. Under most circumstances it is safe. However, certain valvular heart diseases and congenital heart diseases may endanger mother and child's life. If there is any suspicion or existing diagnosis of heart problems, it "must" be discussed with the physician to evaluate and stratify the risk prior to planning for pregnancy.
